Tutoring often focuses on homework and classroom assignments. Reading intervention targets specific reading skill gaps through individualized instruction. At The Middle Matters Co., support may address phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

We provide reading support for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Instruction is based on your child’s current reading skills and individual needs, rather than grade level alone.

No. Your child does not need a dyslexia diagnosis, an Individualized Education Program (IEP), or special education eligibility to receive reading support. We work with students who need help strengthening reading skills, with or without a formal diagnosis.

An Initial Reading Screener helps identify your child’s current reading strengths and areas that need support. We use the results to guide recommendations, which may include individualized, one-on-one reading intervention. The screener does not diagnose dyslexia or other learning disabilities.

Session frequency depends on your child’s skills, goals, and support needs. We’ll discuss recommendations after learning more about your child. During intervention, we check targeted skills regularly, adjust instruction as needed, and share progress updates with parents. Each child’s pace of growth is different.

Yes. Our Special Education Consultation helps parents understand IEPs, Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, evaluations, accommodations, goals, and school data. Share your questions when booking so we can discuss the support you need.
